Meet the YakPak!

Amy Glass

Amy is a mom, wife, runner, fitness enthusiast, blogger and ice cream lover. She’s a southern girl from Mississippi but currently lives in Pennsylvania. She frequents the Appalachian trail and absolutely loves snow.

Andrea Davis

Andrea is a writer, blogger, and adventurer. She lives in a small town in Massachusetts, but New Hampshire is her playground. Hiking is one of her biggest passions and being in the mountains is her happiness. Although she loves the changing seasons, winter is her absolute favorite, and in her opinion, is the best hiking time of the year!

Leticia Barr

Leticia is the founder of the award-winning Tech Savvy Mama, a site that assists parents in navigating the ever-changing world of technology. She has shared quick technology tips and resources as a regular columnist for Parents.com, Babble, Scholastic Parents’ Learning Toolkit, and the LeapFrog Learning Community and a contributor on Common Sense Media. Leticia lives with her family in the Washington, D.C. area where she enjoys unplugging to spend time with her husband, 2 children, their overly enthusiastic Yellow Labrador, and their growing flock of backyard chickens.

Justin Knowles

Justin Knowles (technology hiker) is a Bay Area father of two young boys who gets outside as much as possible. He enjoys trail running, backpacking, mountaineering, and family camping in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Sierra, and abroad. He is also an active volunteer with the Trail Center (trail building) and the San Mateo County Parks. During his adventures, Justin learned the importance of excellent traction the hard way.

Justin Carfagnini

Justin Carfagnini, also referred to as CARF, is an avid fisherman, photographer, writer, and general lover of the outdoors. His passion for the outdoors can be attributed to his grandparents for the many camping trips they took him on as a kid. Always armed with a fly fishing rod, and camera, CARF can be found exploring the Midwest in search of small fish, beautiful places, and cheese curds.

Kim McMullen

Kim is an accidental adventurer, a girl who grew up with television and Hot Pockets and never stepped a foot outside unless she had to. Then she discovered the mountains and felt a calling, a spark of excitement in her belly that could not be suppressed. And she has spent the last 15 years scaling peaks, running ridgelines, climbing cliffs, navigating through forests, cannonballing in alpine lakes, and pushing what's possible up talus fields in the alpine. She’s an aspiring mountaineer, constantly learning new skills—orienteering, ice axe skills, rope skills, climbing, rappelling, glacier traverse, etc. so she can make her way to the places she longs for the most.

Tony Spiroski

Tony is a born and raised Alaskan who loves the thrills of adventure! After graduating from the University of Oregon, he returned to his home nestled in the Chugach Mountains, along the Cook Inlet. Today, he continues to spend his summers and winters exploring the Last Frontier on Earth!

Casey LeBrun

Casey grew up hiking the backwood hills of Kentucky with his family, and has since graduated on to the mountains of Colorado. Denver is his launchpad for exploring the west, and he’s grateful to be able to do so in his free time with his family. He’s interested in sustainable use of the outdoors, finding places off the beaten path, and heading out on trails during the winter and seeing what Colorado looks like under a blanket of snow. Pizza is often his motivation.

Cathy Anderson

Cathy Anderson is a professional adventurer and portrait photographer with more than 10 years of experience, based in Morganton, N.C. She is a featured speaker and educator at national and regional photographic conferences around the United States, has earned several awards, including Certified Professional Photographer, Master Photographer, and Photographic Craftsman from Professional Photographers of America, as well as featured work in art galleries, national news outlets and magazines. She is a lover of all things adventure, neon, and Jeep and enjoys photographing extreme sports and athletes in hard-to-reach locations with off-camera flash.

Jessica Spencer

Jessy is a stay at home mom who loves to run. While she may not be the fastest out there, she’s out there day in and day out getting it done and chasing the next PR. When she’s not running, she’s exploring outdoors with her family who loves hiking, camping, kayaking, whatever gets them outside!

Nicole Bedard

Nicole lives outside of Boston with her family: her husband Greg, their daughter Alyson and dog Tucker. She’s primarily a distance runner and has always had a love affair with the marathon but recently, she’s found a new obsession with the 5k. When she’s not hanging out with her family, friends, or running, you can find her eating sandwiches, listening to country music, or with her nose stuck in a book.
