Two St. Louis firefighter paramedics had to go to extreme lengths yesterday to get a patient to the hospital in wintry, icy conditions.
When roads became too dangerously icy to drive their ambulance, two firefighter paramedics from Maryland Heights Fire Department in suburban St. Louis made the call to put Yaktrax Pro traction devices on their boots to prevent slipping and they used a stretcher to walk a patient about a mile to the hospital.
We’re so appreciative of the first responders who go above and beyond to keep people safe when storms strike, and every day. Thank you for your service!
