Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't work without them I'm a Paramedic in the northeast and can't fall in icy winter conditions. Not an option. I've had the same pair of Yaktrax Pro for 10 years and this year I decided to treat myself to another spare pair. Highly recommended for durability and performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I discovered these 4 or 5 years ago. So impressed, I bought $400 worth to give to friends & family at Christmas. My daughter used them immediately to jog in snow/ice. She has been using the same pair since-just recently in Portland Oregon's heavy snow (Jan 2017). I use mine to walk 1-2 miles each time it snows(not every year). I feel very safe wearing them. I saw YakTrax selling at the Tigard, Oregon Costco in November, where I bought n extra pair to keep in my car.. If wearing hiking boots, buy a size larger, because they can be difficult to stretch in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use, excellent product Recently purchased this product in prep for an outing on the snow. Used it on snow, ice, and slush and kept me and my son safe. Allowed me to feel safe on the snow and enjoy my time outdoor.

Could you recommend any yaktrax for hiking in mud and climbing steep muddy or wet grassy mountains?

Asked by: John47
Unfortunately all of our traction devices are made specifically for ice and snow. We do not have anything made specifically for mud or wet grass at this time.

What style of YakTrax would work best on factory floors covered in dry rice (very slippery)? Also, are Yaktrax available with stainless steel coils?

Asked by: Knepster
for your situation, we recommend using the Yaktrax Spikes. The coil based products are meant to work well on both ice and snow, but the spike/studs work best on just ice. Unfortunately we no longer make any traction products with stainless steel. The reasoning for this is that as the traction elements wear down over time, stainless steel has a tendency to form into sharper and more hazardous edges.

I have been unable to find a replacement spike for a size 8 yak track pro. Where can I purchase?

Asked by: Jgoproud
Replacement spikes are not available for the Yaktrax Pro, as that particular product does not contain any spikes. Replacement Spikes for the Yaktrax Run however are available through amazon.com.

I bought a pair of Yaktrax pros for walking my dog in the snow and ice.  I have used them for an occasional run on icy roads as well.  I have used them approximately 15 times this winter and the rubber has broken where the coins connect to the side bands.

I hike mainly on hardback snow covered trails  but occasionally encounter ice, bare dirt, rock and soft snow. Some of these hikes are up to 10 miles. Which model would you recommend that would work well in these terrains and hold up?

Asked by: Buddy
The best product for your situation will be the Diamond Grips. They not only provide traction in a diversity of ice and snow situations, but they are also one of the most durable products we make.

Asked by: DianaL
We recommend going up to the medium size to be sure to fit any larger boots you may have.
