Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential I moved to ND from Oregon a few years ago and got these my first winter. I have run hundreds of miles in them and they are only now breaking. They are super reliable, easy to put on/take off, and got me through runs ranging from dirt/snow/ice to ice on sidewalks to 4-5 ft deep snow and temperatures as low as -20. Awesome product.

I wear a women's size 5.5 which is obviously smaller than your size small.  Are there any available in kids sizes, or plans to make an extra small size? I'm assuming that it would not be safe to run in pair that is a full size too big.

Asked by: Jamy
Unfortunately, Yaktrax and other traction devices cannot be made for children as they are not heavy enough to weigh the traction devices into the ice. The coils or spikes on our products are effective when they grip the ice/snow and this is caused by the natural weight of the user. We would not recommend wearing a larger size, as that may be hazardous. We would suggest taking a look at our Diamond Grip devices, as they fit a women’s 5-7 and are our most versatile model.

Are these appropriate to run on a mixture of packed snow, ice and the occasional patch of pavement? Sometimes the sidewalks are messy but are cleared completely in spots.

Asked by: Mrsamall
“Yaktrax Walks, Pros, and Run products are intended to be used on packed snow and ice only. Use on alternative surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, or rocky terrain may cause these item to break down at a more rapid rate.”

I purchased the pro series for occasional winter runs.  However, the toe end of the yaktrax would continually slip up, through and over my shoe toe.  Would this same problem occur with your running series?

Asked by: todd
“We would recommend the Run over the Pro for any running activity. The slipping of the toe-end should be fixed by wearing the correct style. We also recommend checking to be sure that you have the right size according to the sizing chart available on our website.”
